Hall of Famers Live—What’s Your List?

[l1]W[/l1]hile we’re on the subject of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it always gets subjective and emotional. Everyone can name one band that should be there already, and make an excellent, albeit subjective, argument against one of the losers who snuck in with the last batch.

Let’s get out of the subjective and put some numbers to it. My buddy Chris Curtis shared this list of the 20 Rock and Roll Hall of Famers he’s seen live:

  1. I’m hoping to add to my list next year. The Eagles are planning a 40th Anniversary tour next year. The Stones might be doing some sort of tour for their 50th. The wife and I are planning a trip to Vegas next year and I know Elton John is playing at Caesar’s so maybe we can catch him live. Plus I think a few acts I’ve already seen might eventually make it into the Hall. In my subjective opinion. 🙂

  2. Hey Joel, did you see Chet Atkins at Southwestern College back in the late 70’s? I was at that show and I remember running into Brett there. Were you with him?

  3. Our whole family went. My dad was a huge fan. Hey, you even used your student ID to get us the tickets, I think.

    While the San Diego Symphony was opening, we were looking at Chet’s trailer through binoculars. For a little while, he was standing at a window with his guitar, practicing as he watched the crowd. Very cool.

  4. I went with my parents. I don’t think my sisters really cared to see Chet. My parents were big fans too. Also, I heard the Beach Boys will be doing a huge tour next year, with Brian Wilson back in the group! I would LOVE to add that to my list.
